The Perennials improv troupe challenges assumptions and stereotypes about aging. We’re a group of women in our 60s and 70s who create light-hearted entertainment by weaving songs, scenes, and rhymes into our performances—all made up on the spot! We invite our audiences to suggest topics for us to use in scenes and to join us onstage in games and stories. Each show is a World Premiere that has never been seen before and will never be seen again!
Our members have performed at residences for elders, senior centers, conferences, fundraisers, and improv festivals in the Bay Area. The Perennials keep our skills sharp through improv and acting classes at Oakland’s Stagebridge Performing Arts Institute, the longest-running senior theater company in the United States (www.stagebridge.org).
